Best lunch specials in the area. Also if you're a local, you probably already know about Pad Thai Tuesday, the best day of the week -- special on their authentic pad Thai all day. I came on a Wednesday afternoon this time however, per my mom's request. She really enjoys their lunch special that comes with Mongolian beef and Thai pork short ribs. I got the lunch special pad see ew with chicken. We also enjoyed avocado rolls and the special of the day, shrimp Tom yum. Everything was delicious as always. The server was really nice and accommodating too. I've always admired the decor here too, the brick walls lined with Buddhist adornments. Truly such a special place to eat and spend time on your lunch break or with family.

The cucumber salad with the crispy pork was good and loved the flavor. The shrimp Tom yum soup had the perfect sour taste. The chicken pad Thai was delicious. I haven't been here in years but it was great to come back. Customer service was great. The environment always looked the same.

Been going here since I was a wee young lad. Can't keep me away from the best orange chicken!! Dined in for some delights. Got 2 orders of the Orange chicken Thursday Lunch special for $10.99 (comes with rice), Pad see ew chicken Wed/Thursday special $10.99, Cucumber Salad, Avacado egg rolls, Stir Fried Kana minus the protein. 2 Thai Iced teas Summer special 50% off (Normally $5 each but got it for $5) Ambiance was just like it's been for years. Some upgrades to their plateware and utensils which has a nice touch of gold to it. All in all, Thai Purple has a soft spot in my heart and I will continue to come back! This place does get busy and the wait staff does their best to hustle and get everyone their orders. So please be patient and treat with respect. They are doing their best!

I was craving Thai food and this was a great spot I came across. I ordered their chicken satay and yum yum tofu extra tofu. The chicken satay was juicy and flavorful. The peanut sauce was excellent. The yum yum tofu was my favorite and highly recommend it even as an entree. It's fried and the sauce is what makes it phenomenal. I'd definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.

i've been passing this place opting for many other good food on this corner because of yelp top reviews seems to paint this place everything but purple. i ordered the crab fried rice to go. the service is curt and lightning fast. portion is pretty standard but considering the price point is almost $3 cheaper than another thai place a few blocks over, but with flavors that marginally better, you could say that thai purple offers good food at competitive price. the presentation is spartan, just a fried rice and a tiny cup of fish sauce with chilli. no garnish or cucumber etc. this fried rice is the strongest crab scent i have ever find on a fried rice. i can't decide yet if it's a good thing or bad. but so far, taste-wise, the fried rice is good. i do get what other reviewers commented about the service though. i tried asking for extra condiments, and the response i got kinda made regret asking. somehow it made me felt wrong to ask for extra condiments.

i have been coming to this place for their pad thai tuesday specials since college and they never miss! the portions are so filling and it's always so good. everyone is also nice and attentive. there's never a crazy wait regardless of how good this deal is! love their little decorations too! would def come back!!

Date: April 16, 2024 I love Thai food and I truly love this restaurant. I've been a fan of the pad Thai Tuesdays since I was in High school and prices are just 3.99$!! Now it's 6.99$ but that's still freaking amazing! They make sure you have enough food to eat too and don't shiest just bc it's a special price day. That's what I love about them. I can't remember in the past but usually when I come it's not too busy and service is amazing. They're so on top of refilling your water and making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. They are great with kids and just made our experience that much better. Now that we've moved so much further out, it's definitely still worth the drive for some amazing pad Thai! Thank you guys!

This is a cute little Thai place with mostly good food. It's been in Alhambra forever and I've been going here since I was a kid. The place has aged quite a bit inside which is a little disappointing because I remember loving the feel of this place. For example there is a huge aquarium that used to be filled with fishes and now it's just an empty aquarium lol. Lighting is pretty bad because it's just really bright and not warm. Service is okay it isn't awful but it isn't amazing. I prefer this place as a to go vs eating there. If you do eat there beware that they don't allow you to split checks which could be frustrating for some. Food:: Orange chicken 10/10 definitely my favorite item they have. Chicken is very crispy and the orange chicken actually has a strong orange flavor which I enjoy. I usually order a side of white rice with this since it doesn't come with rice. Pad thai 10/10 so much flavor and they give you a ton. Fun fact, on Tuesday's pad thai is only $6.99. Avocado egg rolls 8/10 I've ordered them a few times and sometimes it's good, other times they are under cooked. Not a must try. The sauces are good though. Beef salad 1/10 least favorite item I've had. It was extremely salty. I took three bites and I was done. Bummer because I really wanted to love it. Sometimes you want to eat out but eat something healthy lol don't order this Green chicken curry 10/10 so much flavor and so delicious. I love the strong basil flavor it had. I ordered medium spicy and it was perfect. Order a side of rice to put the curry over.
